Our Mission
Welcome to the University of Miami Scuba Club!
We aim to make diving accessible, safe, and fun for our ’Canes community while promoting ocean conservation across South Florida. Our club brings together a diverse group of students, all connected by a shared passion: exploring the ocean.
At UM, we’re lucky to live and learn just minutes from the water, and we make the most of it. From weekly local dives to trips across the country, we give students the opportunity to grow their diving skills, connect with fellow ocean lovers, and discover the incredible world beneath the waves.
What We Do
Conservation
We work with a number of local organizations to help keep the ocean beautiful. From coral out-planting to trash cleanups, we get hands-on in protecting the places we love to dive! Our conservation efforts make a real impact for today’s oceans and future generations.
Certifications
We offer discounted certification in collaboration with Underwater Unlimited. To make certifications more accessible, all the classroom and pool diving sessions are held right on the Coral Gables campus! Whether you're starting with Open Water or aiming to become an Instructor, we’re here to help you take your diving to the next level.
Fun
Some of the best memories happen between the dives. Whether it's road-tripping to the Florida Keys at 6:00 am, sharing laughs on the boat ride out to a reef, or camping after a weekend of diving, Scuba Club is all about adventure and connection. Our trips aren't just about diving, they're about building friendships, exploring new places, and having fun along the way.
